MSR (Mountain Safety Research) was established over 50 years ago in 1969 by Seattle engineer and lifelong mountaineer Larry Penberthy who set out with a simple mission; he was dedicated to improving the safety of climbing equipment. Penberthy believed 'that better, safer, more reliable equipment is the key to unlocking greater adventures'. This was where MSR was born. A pioneering company which for the last 50 years has been known worldwide for it's cutting edge engineering.
